I'm here visiting Poughkeepsie and stopped at this boat launch to see the bridge and river. It was a very nice, quiet, clean spot to take in sone scenery.

Love this place. No playground. Great spot to fish or just relax in your car by the water and have great views of the bridge

Nice spot. Locals tell me that it's especially good for windsurfing with a Southern wind. There are 2 channels close by the 2 shores. The main one right next to the closer shore with significant current and need to watch out for large ships and barges traffic. Channel on the other side is for small boats. In the middle there is a sandbar that is just over a knee deep when low. Great for learning beach start with windsurfing 😀.
Lots of parking with pits to make BBQ and picnic benches.
Come and visit nature at its best.
