This is a great spot to put your kayak in. There is parking, and a dock with a kayak cradle, so you never need to get your feet wet! If you go left after launching, there is beautiful habitat for birds and turtles etc, but there is a bank to bank obstruction of logs that make it impossible to continue. If you go right, you will have the same beautiful habitat, and can go further. Eventually there is a shallow area with rocks that is the turn-around spot.

Very good and convenient kayak/canoe access. The accessibility features make it convenient for everyone, since they provide places to grab for getting in and out of your boat and for sliding the boat in or out of the water. If you head downstream you'll encounter a couple of portages in about 1/2 mile, where fallen trees block the entire river (as of June '21). Some boats might squeak under the left side of the 2nd blockage. Minor pain, but that allows for a 3 mile downstream trip to the Orlando Street access in the Town of Ulster.

Frequently tests high in fecal matter might be okay for fishing but not recommended for swimming

They expected to see a lot of hopeless people and homeless people cart down there. Otherwise the water looks disgusting but it's a really nice area to have a picnic recipe to like that real quick
