A beautiful place to paddle around and there is no fee to enter or use the ramp! The railroad trellis to the north is easily passable, even at high tide, offering access to the Hudson. There is a bit of a hill to the launch, but there is a convenient wooden track to slide your boat up and down. The launch area itself was super buggy; once I was out on the water there were a lot fewer, but I would highly recommend bug spray. You're mostly going to want to stick to the main channel as the side ones are largely inaccessible due to vegetation. At the time of writing (mid-August) there were a bunch of beautiful marsh wildflowers and interesting birds like osprey, marsh wrens, swallows, and someone said they saw a trumpeter swan near the trellis.

Fun place to paddle around and explore the winding waterways amongst the lillypads and wildflowers. Saw two heron fishing by the trestles

Very nice place to launch a boat.

Once you're on the water, it's beautiful. Lots of cattails and views of the mountains. Plenty of birds.
Launching takes a little work. There's some parking, no bathrooms, and you have to drive your gear down a hill drop it off and bring your car back up or carry it down the hill. Then there's quite a few steps down to the water. There is a convenient ramp to put your boat on that runs along the steps. But just keep in mind to save enough strength to get it back up again!
