The walkway is in place and on the west side. It is in a different location now… as of early 2026 The old ramp is still there but all blocked off. It’s a bit rough but doable. If you like Vistas across the Hudson and a good walk, it will be a great experience. I was very glad to see that we can now walk across the bridge again.

How long will this project be postponed? It’s still in repairs. Also I feel it’s less confusing to get on the bridge from Rensselaer than the Albany entrance. The newly built entrance from the Albany to Rensselaer route basically takes you onto the ramp and then onto the pedestrian side walk on the bridge.

Okay so they need to improve the ramp bike route detour that's coming from Rensselaer into Albany now I will repeat this.. at night time coming from Albany insurance where you need to put reflectors on the inside of the ramp for the people that are on the walkway coming across the bridge
Not on the other side where the cars are on the side where the people walk on let me take that picture as well come on people it don't take rocket scientist.. this ramp that goes down by Jennings needs more lighting and guidance through this dark area.

Bike path that was put in place from Albany to Rensselaer really needs an updated repair. It needs lights on the bike path which there's none.

Wanna walk over the bridge to your night shift job at 2am? TOO BAD. TAKE A BUS DETOUR. CLOSED, with no open date in sight... (they opened a detour so you can cross the bridge at night now)
