My family and I have taken Amtrak over the bridge in both directions and the view crossing over the bridge was wonderful because can see tall buildings. The bridge is a 2-track swing bridge and only one train can operate at one time due to the age of it. Amtrak and freight trains pass over the bridge daily and construction is underway for a replacement of the bridge to vertical lift bridge south of the current one to have two tracks, and pedestrian/bike way allowing for two trains at the same time.
