Renegade 38ft w/Jeep. $35 per night. Site 37, back-in. Spacious site with privacy. Easy to back into. Electric only so come with water. Surrounded by trees & dense bushes so a bit buggy. Friendly staff. Starlink was great. 20 minutes or so for supplies. Checkin with pets requires rabies certificate. A bit tough to get to with a big rig. Most residential roads are marked 10 tons max. (We’re 15). Hwy 150 got us out. Best I could tell, limit was due to roads not bridges. Friday nights the local fire department has a fund raiser with food & a band. Pretty good band too.

Nice State park on the Hudson. Two loops for camping, one with electricity, the other without.
Clean bathrooms. Clean sites. Several trails including one that follows the river and leads you to the big boat launch. There is also a canoe/kayak launch on the creek side.

Mostly peaceful campground with nice spots, most of which offer some privacy. If you are bothered by trains, note that you will hear them in the background quite frequently from the railroad bridge that passes over the Hudson River. It's not loud by any means, but you can hear them.
The state park staff and the camp hosts were all very friendly, and it has some of the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen in a state park.
Site 20 is a pull through site and it's huge, and though it's next to the shower building, that's not really a problem because it's far enough away. Also, the little field between you and the shower building is an ideal spot to set up a Starlink dish.

This is a very nice park, with good trails and by the Hudson River so you can watch for eagles. Friday nights in the summer they have food and bands.

Schodack Island State Park is a fantastic spot for camping and RV stays. Each site offers electricity but no direct water or sewer hookups — though there are multiple water stations around the park and a central dump station, making short stays easy if you plan ahead.
The RV sites are nicely spaced and surrounded by trees, giving you a sense of privacy and personal space. There’s access to the Hudson River, a boat dock, and a large park area by the water with parking — perfect for visitors not staying overnight but wanting to enjoy the river.
Fishing here is a highlight: my son caught several catfish and a big carp right from the shore. The surrounding nature is rich, with rabbits and even deer spotted during our stay. It’s a peaceful retreat, yet only about 15 minutes from the city, offering a true nature escape without being too remote. We were thoroughly impressed and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet outdoor getaway.
