Also, during summer, the bridge is active and can be raised, usually requiring 24 hours' notice by calling the number on the bridge.

As an aerial photography company, we at Drone Shot Media are always searching for unique landscapes that tell a story from above.
Our recent trip to the Green Island Bridge in Troy, NY, was an absolute highlight, and we're excited to share our experience.
The Green Island Bridge, which connects the cities of Troy and Green Island across the Hudson River, is a stunning piece of engineering. From the ground, it's impressive, but from the air, its a work of art. The bridge's steel truss structure, with its intricate patterns and clean lines, creates a beautiful contrast against the natural flow of the river below. The real magic, however, lies in how the bridge interacts with its surroundings. The bustling city of Troy on one side and the quieter, industrial landscape of Green Island on the other provide a fascinating juxtaposition that changes with every angle.
The ever-changing light of a late afternoon shoot also kept us on our toes, as we worked to capture the golden hour glow reflecting off the river and the bridge's steel frame.
The most rewarding part of the experience was seeing the whole scene come together.
Our drones allowed us to capture the bridge in a way that is impossible from the ground—framing the historic architecture of Troy with the bridge as a leading line, and capturing the sheer scale of the Hudson River.
Our visit to the Green Island Bridge was a fantastic reminder of the beauty that can be found in our own backyard and the unique perspective that drone photography can offer.
