Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge was incredibly peaceful and calming. The wide open marshes and quiet water views made it feel like a true escape from everything. I spent a lot of time just walking slowly and watching birds, enjoying how still and open the landscape felt. What I liked most was how uncrowded it was. The trails and observation areas were quiet, and it was easy to just stop, listen to the wind, and take in the scenery. It’s not flashy, but that’s what makes it special — it’s simple and naturally beautiful.

Beautiful vista, with lots of marsh water, reeds, and birds. They have boardwalks where you can set up your camera or observe the many many birds that are in this location. The walks are relatively short but I suppose you could go as far as you choose. I went there for the bird watching but the peaceful setting is worth a trip right off of Route 1

An absolute gem of a place in Delaware, didn't get the chance to do all of the trails, but the ones I did were immaculate and well maintained. You will need insect repellent during the summer or you will get eaten alive, after all it is a marsh which is a mosquito haven.

Visited on Labor Day weekend Sunday around noon. There weren't too many other cars in the parking lot. The visitor center is pretty small, but they have a good selection of items in the gift shop. The bathrooms are also located inside the visitor center. This is also where you can get your blue goose passport cancelation stamp. They actually sell the blue goose book here. This is only the 3rd NFWS gift shop we've ever encountered that sells it. We've been to almost 2 dozen.

The parking spots around the back are much better as a few are shaded by large trees. This is also where the picnic tables are. There is also a dock to launch boats or kayaks at no cost. The lady working in the visitor center said another of people get stuck in there and that the boat launch further up the road on the way in is much better.

We hiked the boardwalk trail loop, and it was very nice. It was a pretty warm day, and I'd recommend coming earlier or maybe later in the day.

If we were to come back, we'd bring our kayaks and probably fishing gear. We'd like to explore the park more.

Well maintained park. Lots of individual posts that have information regarding birds, plants and trees. There is an information office that sells park material. Restrooms are located at the information office. The best part to visiting this park is its quietness. Especially near Turkle pond. Priceless.
