Before this place became highly popular and overcrowded...about 10 years ago...this was a great crabbing spot. The road to the beach needs to be re-opened too. At least there are 🚻 nowadays.

Gate to beach is usually closed. Small pier to fish and crab from plus a little boat launch.

A good not great place for astrophotography and other photography disciplines. There is a fair amount of light pollution off on the horizon in all directions as you are not terribly far from nearby beaches with homes and night lights.

A very nice spot for birders (there are typically anywhere from 2-10+ out depending on the time of year and time of day. Beach access is restricted during March to September for mating season for some of the birds, but the rest of the area is still open.

Bugs are not terrible at night, but it's still wise to ALWAYS have some sort of mosquito repellent and tick repellent depending on the time of year. If it's late spring or summer then you ABSOLUTELY need tick repellent, no need to risk it.

People fish here at times, people seem to be very respectful of your space and are generally very friendly to engage with since it's likely you're all here for the same purpose as this is not somewhere you accidentally ended up haha.

I enjoy going here to relax a bit, enjoy the sound of nature, and shoot lots of photography. If you're idea of a beach doesn't involve a boardwalk or stores....this place is for you. 👍
