While visiting the Hancock house we were treated with a celebration of 12th night and a reenactment of the Greenwich Tea Party, this of course is the forgotten cousin to the Boston Tea Party. There was cider, cookies, cakes, music and a campfire outside, where loyal Patriots coould toss in small containers of tea while denouncing British rule. "No taxation without representation"

It was absolutely outstanding!!!

The William and Sarah Hancock House, built in 1734, is a beautiful example of a well-preserved 18th century, patterned brick-built home. The structure is also the site of the March 1778 "Massacre at Hancock’s Bridge," in which British Loyalists and Hessian mercenary forces ambushed and killed at least 20 members of the Salem militia.

We went on the Salem County Haunted Self Guided road trip and the Hancock House was on the tour. I was so surprised to learn the area is rich in American Revolution history. We learned all about the " massacre" that took place there.
Check it out!

A place where history froze. The wonderful caretaker of the house gladly told us its history. The tragic events of those times passed before my eyes. I recommend visiting this place.
