📍Amazing things happening at Fort DuPont thanks to the renewed efforts by the Fort DuPont Redevelopment & Preservation Corporation! From their WWII Chapel to the proposed “revitalization” plans of their vintage chic theater… everything’s getting some TLC!

I want to like this park. I really do. I can’t. If you’ve come from anywhere but local and aren’t visiting the adjacent Fort Delaware State Park located on Pea Patch Island in the Delaware river, you’re wasting your time. If you’re into urbex, this park may have some interest to you. There are assorted boarded up buildings here in various states of decay. There are no signs here (except for one or two buildings) explaining what these buildings are/were so bring your imagination. I’m into photography and some of this stuff is interesting and I’ll include some pics. If you’ve got a boat there are adjacent locations from which you may launch. Thankfully there’s fishing and some really beautiful scenery nearby. It’s just not here.

I have come to learn that there is a plan in the works to do something. There should be signs telling people what different things were used for. Overall though, a very thought provoking experience.

Good views of river and decent trail loop. Beware of bugs in summer. Can be very muddy if wet. Some trails will be impassable if heavy rain. A few structures to enjoy, but do not climb on them.

Great place to hike historic site.
