Iron Bridge Road offers a picturesque glimpse into the New Sweden Wildlife Management Area, a haven for diverse wildlife and plant life. However, a concerning issue mars this otherwise idyllic spot: the blocked tributary at the beginning of the WMA.
The tributary, once a vibrant waterway, is now choked with sediment from nearby farm tilling. This obstruction traps carp in small puddles of water when the tide recedes, leaving them vulnerable to predators and environmental stressors. The sight of these struggling fish casts a shadow over the otherwise serene setting.
Despite this ecological concern, Iron Bridge Road exudes an undeniable charm. The rustic bridge, the tranquil surroundings, and the abundance of wildlife make it a worthwhile destination for nature enthusiasts. However, it's crucial to acknowledge the plight of the carp and advocate for solutions to restore the health of the tributary.
Pros:

Picturesque setting

Abundant wildlife

Rustic bridge

Cons:

Blocked tributary harming carp

Limited access to WMA from the bridge
