A wonderful place to spend the whole day with family and friends.
Doing some delicious barbecue and swimming.
It has plenty of tables, but you have to bring your own grill. It also has fully functional rest rooms.
Most of the road is fair condition, however there are some bad spots with huge potholes so keep your eyes open and obey the speed limit.
Rangers are friendly and easy going.

Nice place to visit for short stay or the whole day.
-be careful and pay the parking at the entrance even if there is no attendant, you need to write down your information and put $10 in the envelope that is provided at the entrance. They are in the box after you do that just drop it in the drop box.
Be careful on the ticks and snakes!

No charge to get in last year. It was a nice place to have a picnic and swim in the water. Just be careful, no lifeguards. Bathrooms readily available and kept in good shape. Plenty of benches and places to grill. The old abandoned buildings nearby can be pretty spooky, but it adds to the history of this area. The Tocks Dam project that never was. Forced all the people out of this area in the 70’s by Eminent Domain. Such a shame.
Bring your family and kids here for a good time and nice scenery! Be careful, the Old Mine Road isn’t well maintained in areas. Lots of bumps and small holes. Drive slow. They have patched a bunch in the past year or two so I’ll give them that. But it would be better!

Beautiful hidden gem. We went on a grey fall day with fog hovering over the river. It was completely empty, but the beach area was open. There are some abandoned buildings that look spooky from afar. It seems like it would be a lively and a fun beach spot in the summer.
