I am really sad to have to write a bad review about this stay because this property has a lot of charm and potential to be a great place. Unfortunately, the staff is poorly managed and trained. While staying there on the Fourth of July, there was a brief storm and the power went out. This was unfortunate, but I could live with the inconveniences it caused if the staff had been the least bit helpful or accommodating during the situation. We were just about to go get dinner when it happened. None of the three restaurants on premises or adjacent had generators or kept their doors open in any capacity so we needed to get food somewhere else. There was no food or snacks offered by staff that night. Apparently, I was informed the next morning that I could have had water if I specifically asked (it was not being given out proactively). So we asked the front desk for ideas where to get food and they said “I don’t know.” No offer to help us figure it out. We were clearly expected to go without food, air conditioning, WiFi, hot water, and lights with no refund, discount, accommodation, or even sympathy from staff. When another guest asked, she was told she could have left. None of us were from the area and it was not easy to find food or other last minute accommodations with no help. The staff would not even provide owner/management information to the multiple unhappy guests. Another guest told me it happened twice during their stay. The staff seemed to enjoy the break. Avoid!

My husband and I stayed here as part of a group of about 60 people. Overall, our stay was great, and we enjoyed the property. However, what happened on our last night was so unacceptable.

We were staying in one of the cottages, and since one of our family friends was leaving early, we planned to use their spare room for one night. Around 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, we called to make sure the room would be turned over with fresh sheets and prepared for us. We were told that wouldn’t be a problem. My husband called early so they didn’t have to rush.

Later, we called again and spoke with AJ to confirm the room was ready. From the beginning, she was dismissive, repeatedly saying she couldn’t provide any information. We already had the room keys, so when we went upstairs, we were shocked to hear other people inside the room.

We went back to the front desk, where AJ still wouldn’t explain why someone else was in our room. The person with the email confirmation had to come to the desk and show the reservation confirming that we were booked through Sunday. The staff eventually explained that housekeeping noticed the luggage was gone and assumed we had left because of the power outage from the storm the night before. Instead of confirming whether we had actually checked out, they resold the room.

What makes this even more concerning is that they still intended to charge us for the room they assumed we weren’t using while simultaneously selling it to someone else.

AJ initially told my husband there were no other rooms available and made the entire situation much more difficult than it needed to be. It wasn’t until my mother-in-law stepped in that another room was finally provided. At no point did AJ apologize for the mistake or acknowledge how inconvenient and stressful the situation was.

Everything else about our stay was wonderful, but this situation was outrageous. I don’t understand how a hotel can assume guests have checked out without confirming it first, then resell the room while the original guests are still paying for it. It was completely unprofessional, entirely avoidable, and left a very negative impression of the Inn at the end of what had otherwise been a great stay.

Amazing place. We got married here on 4/27/25 and have been back multiple times since. The Atmosphere is great, food is great, golf course is absolutely stunning and they finally finished the indoor pool which was awesome. The Shawneecraft brewery and pizza next door is some of the best pizza and beer I've had. The fire pits are great for the evening as well in the beer garden.

A truly hidden gem that transcends time and place. 1 hour from Manhattan placed like a delicate yet hearty dollop of caviar over toast points this incredible resort rests along the most pristine and private section of the Delaware River. Filled and decorated with memories and moments of prior visitors you’ll not find a more welcoming and elegantly reflective establishment anywhere to retreat during your travels. The character and sovereignty it offers are simply soul restoring. Highly, highly recommend.

We booked 2 nights stay at the very last minute with our CC rewards points and credit card hotel credit (soon expiring). Given the history of the building and beautiful scenery, I was very pleased with the trip until the nights.
1. Noise level: Unlike some hotels I have stayed at, there aren't many drunk party people here but these walls are so thin. I literally heard everybody's business at night. First night, my husband called to see if we can be moved to more quiet area and we were told all the rooms were booked. I mean... it's January and we didnt see THAT many people on the property. However, we were told we could get a different room if we are willing to pay more. I didn't really expect much of a difference as these buildings are quite old.
2. Cleanliness: I wish I took photos before my husband cleaned the filter of the heater... the first night we suffered from the room being stuffy even though we didn't increase the temperature high. So the second night, my husband cleaned the filters and it was better than the first night but I was disappointed that we, as the guests, had to clean it. Not to mention, the room had multiple spots of spider webs on the ceiling.
3. Bathroom: I tried to change the direction of the showerhead as the water was overflowing. Then the showerhead broke!

Pizza from Shawneecraft Brewery is 10/10. Would i stay again here? Probably not. Would love to see them stepping up to bring back the prime time of this place.
