We recently stayed at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort for two nights and paid $580, which honestly set a certain level of expectation for us. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

As soon as we walked into the room, the floor was extremely dirty. When my husband took off his shoes, his feet were completely covered in dirt. That is simply unacceptable for any hotel, especially at this price point. Cleanliness should be the absolute minimum standard.

I called the front desk to ask if they had disposable hotel slippers or flip-flops (which many hotels provide), and they seemed surprised by the request, as if they had never heard of it before. That response was also disappointing.

Additionally, the bedroom door was very old and pieces were literally falling off. For a resort charging this amount per night, I expected at least basic maintenance, cleanliness, and updated furnishings. Instead, it felt like the property has been neglected.

We chose this place expecting a comfortable and well-maintained stay, but sadly, it did not feel worth the money. I truly hope management takes guest feedback seriously and improves the overall condition of the rooms.

The condition of the rooms were poor in comparison to the price. The furniture was in very poor condition, the bathroom shower stall was so small making it hard to move from one spot. There are barely any outlets, the doors and walls were in poor condition and the beds were okay.
Customer service was fair and the employees act like you’re bothering them if you ask questions, get defensive and aren't friendly.
🌟 The SPA was VERY GOOD! We enjoyed our massages, everyone was very nice and professional.
The small gym has no ventilation, smelled like chlorine which made it very difficult to breathe while exercising and the locker room smelled like a DEAD CARCASS.
The pool and hot tub were nice. Not much to do if you don’t ski or golf plus the fire pit wasn’t cleaned from snow and other outdoor options weren’t available. We ended up driving a lot while we were there to find stuff to do.
We had a good dinner at the Gem and Key but be careful to check your receipt for added costs not previously disclose to us.
They offer packages that the staff aren’t fully trained on which makes the entire stay complicated and aggravating.
This was our first and last time here, we won’t be back. 3 stars is being generous when in reality the hotel should be 2 and the spa should be 4.5

Amazing Old World Charm!!

We stayed here for New Year’s with three families and had such a great experience. The location is incredibly convenient—close to everything. We went tubing during the day and came back to so many fun activities for the kids, including the indoor pool and a fantastic New Year’s party.

The staff truly made our stay special. Brian at the front desk went out of his way to help one of our friends who booked later than the rest of us stay in the main hotel rather than being placed in the other building, which was a bit of a walk. We were beyond thrilled and so appreciative.

The on-site brewery was another highlight—the pizza was amazing and such an easy option for families. We also want to give a huge shout-out to a hotel worker named Marc (I believe that was his name), who was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond and was genuinely kind.

Highly recommend this hotel for families traveling with kids looking for a quick, easy, and fun getaway. We will definitely be back!

We booked 2 nights stay at the very last minute with our CC rewards points and credit card hotel credit (soon expiring). Given the history of the building and beautiful scenery, I was very pleased with the trip until the nights.
1. Noise level: Unlike some hotels I have stayed at, there aren't many drunk party people here but these walls are so thin. I literally heard everybody's business at night. First night, my husband called to see if we can be moved to more quiet area and we were told all the rooms were booked. I mean... it's January and we didnt see THAT many people on the property. However, we were told we could get a different room if we are willing to pay more. I didn't really expect much of a difference as these buildings are quite old.
2. Cleanliness: I wish I took photos before my husband cleaned the filter of the heater... the first night we suffered from the room being stuffy even though we didn't increase the temperature high. So the second night, my husband cleaned the filters and it was better than the first night but I was disappointed that we, as the guests, had to clean it. Not to mention, the room had multiple spots of spider webs on the ceiling.
3. Bathroom: I tried to change the direction of the showerhead as the water was overflowing. Then the showerhead broke!

Pizza from Shawneecraft Brewery is 10/10. Would i stay again here? Probably not. Would love to see them stepping up to bring back the prime time of this place.

My family had such a great experience at the Shawnee Inn! There was so much to do during the snow storm. The staff are incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. I really appreciated Kyle the security guard. But truly everyone I came into contact with was amazing. The hot tub and pool area has such a great vibe. My favorite part!
