Awesome getaway place. I’d say the only con I would have is the entrance to the water can be made a little more accommodating. No reason a small corner with some rail stakes to make some steps for the older or those physically challenged to be able to get to the water to enjoy. Other than that amazing place.

Our family has been going to Smithfield Beach for over 30 years. The Park service does an excellent job keeping it clean and safe. The park can get quite busy on the weekends in season. But if you visit midweek you have the run of the place. All in all just a great park to spend the day fishing, swimming , picnicking, some hiking or general outdoor family activities.

Really nice access point! Bathrooms are clean. This is a great boat launch cause the river is very deep and calm.

It's also a good start point if you float through the gap. Lots of incredible beauty to be seen between the wildlife and the landscape.

Lovely place to hang out with the fam pleasantly surprised to see real bathrooms that weren't port a potties too. $10 vehicle entry. We went because we went canoeing with a local company.

Nice place to swim or just be by the water. Bathrooms werent open at this time, unfortunately.
