This is a really nice day trip for young and old alike. All employees are very knowledgeable and the gift shop offers some nice keepsakes and souvenirs. The price is very affordable. I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

This is a reproduction of a fortified home encampment from the 1700's. It did not have a military history. It is run presently as a lovely living history museum. You can learn about life in these times by hearing from the community blacksmith, spinner, wood craftsman, apothecary and others. There are 2 musket demonstrations daily during the summer season. Excellent info on the growth of the homes during the decades and the garden that kept families thriving. All very interesting and engaging. $10.00 per adult entry.

Interesting recreation of a Colonial-Era stockade, originally built in the 1950s as a roadside attraction but now owned by Sullivan County and operated as a museum. Make sure you check its operating hours before you visit -- outside of the summer season they're limited. We visited on a day they were technically closed, but it was open for a school field trip and the docents were kind enough to let my wife and I walk around and give us the full presentation. Not a large site -- don't plan on spending much more than an hour or so here unless you use the nearby picnic shelter for lunch.

Fun and Educational, this place is amazing. Highly recommend it as a place to visit if you are traveling by. Plan to be there at least 2 hours.
They actually give you a guided tour with lots of historical facts and full of knowledge! My 13 year old son was fascinated with the information and the staff was all so friendly. They are all dressed in character and even though him how to play the games children played in the Colonial times.
Definitely worth the time and money to go there.

A walk back into the 18th century . This area has so much history, and Fort Delaware brings that to life. I love that there are different activities on weekends over the summer! Perfect to bring the kids too! They also have a great gift shop with colonial reproduction pottery, games for the kids, books and even items made at the fort using 18 C craftsmanship.
