The Donald W. Barnes Boat Launch, located in Enfield, CT, is the northernmost boat launch on the Connecticut River within Connecticut’s borders. This launch ramp , also known as the Thompsonville Boat Ramp, is wide and in good condition, with ample parking available. It is situated near the ruins of a bridge just upstream from the launch, and the Massachusetts border is approximately 1.8 miles away. The Enfield Dam, which is better accessed from Windsor Locks Canal Trail, is about 0.6 miles downstream. For fishing enthusiasts, it’s recommended to fish from the shore south of the Enfield Dam.
