Very beautiful area. Nice ride from Jackson Hole. We were there late April so bring warm clothes. Better to come after May 1st when more things are open

Interesting dam which creates lake in Grand Teton Park. You can walk across it and see how it works. Make sure to go and see the downstream side. The water exiting the dam is impressive.

We stopped at Jackson Lake Dam and Reservoir and it turned out to be one of the most memorable spots in Grand Teton. From the bridge you can see Jackson Lake on one side and the Snake River on the other, with the Teton Range rising in the distance. It is such a unique view.
There are restrooms near the parking area which is really convenient. You can walk across the bridge that separates the lake and river, and there is even a stair if you want to go down and see the dam up close. The water looks so clear and the sound of it flowing is so relaxing. We also saw people fishing on the other side of the river and it seems like a perfect place to fish and picnic at the same time.
It can get crowded and traffic in and out of the lot gets tricky, but if you have a little patience the experience is absolutely worth it. This is a peaceful stop where you can take in the calm of Jackson Lake and the power of the Snake River all at once.

A great picnic area. Plenty of parking, bathrooms and picnic benches. Gorgeous views and highly recommend to walk the pathway on both sides of the road. Different views from both sides and you can see below the dam into the falling water. A great place to skip stones on the river and balance rocks! Highly recommend place to stop even for a quick stroll.

Must stop if you are Ian the area. Jackson Lake is a 400 foot-deep natural lake with a dam added on top. The original log-crib dam constructed in 1906-07, failed in 1910. In 1916, the Bureau of Reclamation completed a concrete dam raising the pool level by 39 feet.
