This is a good location to launch a canoe, kayak, stand up paddleboards and similar craft. It is not a launch site for trailered boats. You need to be able to carry your boat down the vehicle-wide grassy "path" to get to the Connecticut River.

This access point was significantly improved in 2023 when the Northern Forest Canoe Trail partnered with the Woodsville Fire District to install granite steps.

What this site is missing is signage, designated parking (although there does appear to be parking nearby). It could also benefit from barriers to prevent people from backing down the "path" and dumping their garbage. (There was evidence of some garbage dumping when I visited this access point -- a rusty 30-gallon propane tank near the granite steps to the river).

The map getting us here was wrong! Stop just after the turn before the bridge. Good for kayaks, canoes.
