My partner and I stumbled upon a 200 year old grain mill, stewarded by the historical society. The caretaker, Lonny, gave us an in-depth and enthusiastic tour of the building, explaining the way all the shafts and belts worked. It was an unexpected and fun way to spend an hour in town.

I LOVE THIS BEAUTIFUL, very active historical society !! I have been doing a ton of research. Great records, nice comfortable conference table and chairs , AIR CONDITIONING on our first 90 degree day of 2019!
Thank you Marguerite and Larry for pulling together so many great records for me regarding info on the steam boat locks, canal, grist mill and Vilas Bridge .
I am making a contribution AND renewing my membership!!
This is a great place for students and our community to learn about this famous , amazing town!! The documentary will be finished I believe in about 6 months. The documentary will Be on the historical aspects of the 406 mile heritage river—our CONNECTICUT RIVER with Bellows Falls featured in it. Hopefully we can talk them into doing the premier in our beautiful opera house!

This review is specifically for the Labyrinth. We visited this sacred site with some like minded friends and very much enjoyed a contemplative walk of this installation. It is beautifully and thoughtfully constructed and well worth a visit and the challenge of parking.
