It's busy, lots of trucks putting in and pulling out. There's plenty of parking. If you're visiting on foot, walk the muddy riverbank up to the first bridge, there is a wee trail in the woods that passes a firepit area with seating, as well as a 50's or 60's housefire dump. Lots of old pottery strewn about the ravine leading out to the river. Toads as big as my palm. I'd like to visit again with a kayak.

A quiet backwoods place to launch a boat into the Connecticut river, plenty of parking. Not a great place to picnic or do much else.

Very good resource for the community. I spend alot of time here walking or metal detecting. I've noticed they did some up keep which is nice however it would be nice to have a sitting area maybe with permanent benches. Alot of older folks go down there and sit there cars to watch the river. I'm sure a bench would make them much happier. Noticed alot of trash basically everywhere. Lots of it buried in the ground. In the warmer months they put a porta potty down there. Maybe they could put a trash can?

Always washed out by stores, incredibly muddy. During the season multiple people get tripped up from the mud or slip... it can be fairly dangerous at times, could use some high vis markers to indicate the concrete wall location.

Nice free access to the famed Connecticut river in historic Northfield.
If you allow your mind to wander you can almost see the pioneers coming up the river and immediately being scalped by the local Algonquin
