Well it's definitely a state park which I didn't know was there from what I seen. It's only one trail but it's it's a nice walk on the trail. It's a couple places you can stop and sit down I didn't didn't recall seeing any grills. Like I said it is a nice walk down the trail. I think a lot can be done to make that state park a lot better, but it is nice if you want to go walking down the trail and you can see some of the Connecticut River and spots be gray if they can clear a spot out and make like a dock where people can kind of get to see more of the river

used it as a kayak takeout point after a downstream paddle. the boat ramp served its purpose but the environment is full on 'hood. i could hear spanish music blasting on the river before i got near the boat ramp. its bad enough the parking lot is full of vehicles with trailers loading and unloading mostly jet skis, but then there was this group of guys taking up spaces, just hanging out, blasting spanish music from home sized speakers sitting on backseats of cars. then there's the smell of weed that permeated the whole boat ramp area. not the place i would want to hang out with my group after a long paddle. there is another ramp in south windsor, on the other side of the river, that i heard is much quieter that we will be using next time.

Lots of parking, nice paved walkway and small riverfront beach to walk for a bit before trees cover the majority of walkable area. There’s a path that leads back onto the paved pathway with a few picnic tables along the route.

Near the end is a footbridge leading to somewhere but I took the wooded path to the right just before it.

It’s an easy little hike with some random detritus sprinkled throughout, like the metal spring mattress, some tires and other metal contraptions. There’s also a white sink which I didn’t photograph as not to spoil all the treasures the route has in store for the next adventurer. How it arrived in the middle of the woods, one is left to imagine.

When you get to the fork in the wooded path, left leads to a dead end and some drainage pipes. As I approached, a huge heron drinking from one of them flew away. He must live nearby. If you see him, please send my apologies.

Another reviewer described the park and path as “tranquil” which is not entirely accurate until you get a ways down the path and away from the highway and bridge. There’s also a train that passes by on occasion, doing its trainly business.

Lots of places to take photos, professional or otherwise if that’s your thing.

The grounds are getting a little worn out. The equipment, picnic tables need to be refurbished. The boat ramp is good but there is no dock to tie your boat to. The views are fantastic. He just want to watch the river flow by it's a great place to do so.

Big parking lot but not a "park" as you'd think. There's a boat launch area and the CT River is right there along with Bissell Bridge. The river trail starts here. No one was here when I stopped by. Very peaceful and pretty.
