The Goodspeed Opera House is a historic Theatre on the banks of the Connecticut River in East Haddam. The theatre is small, which makes for an intimate experience and almost every seat is a great view. We loved the production of Jesus Christ Superstar and we really enjoyed that you could pre-order intermission drinks and they would be waiting for you on the porch when you got there! Can't believe this was my first time here, but absolutely will not be the last! Staff was amazing. If you go, make a half day of it and eat somewhere local before or after the show. What a cute little town.

Great place to see a show. Intimate seating throughout with great sound and very good service from the attendants! The history of the opera house is a plus!

Place is so cute, right off the river. The building old and so well kept up.
Tickets not bad priced, staff so nice. We went to the hotel right next door sat outside for dinner and drinks before the show. This was such a great experience for our visit to Connecticut.

The 1 hour tour was conducted by volunteers David and Maddie. They are so knowledgeable and gave a good history. We got to see the crews setting up for the coming show during this down time. We heard about the rave reviews from friends who enjoyed Crazy for you. The opera house is so beautiful and a piece of architecture. We’re definitely coming back for the next show. Highly recommended.

The Goodspeed is a Connecticut GEM! The productions are always so good, and the casts are so talented. The mix of original shows and classics you want to see again is always right on the nose. I wish there were more options to eat that are closer and more varied, but now having 2 restaurants right there is helpful - especially when one spot is going through a bit of a lull.
I'm so thankful for the quality theater that's much more affordable than other options.
