We loved it! The docent was very knowledgeable. She respected our space but was also available for all of our questions. She provided relevant background when needed. The grounds and property were well maintained and organized. It was a great collection in all the galleries. There were a lot of interesting things but it was not overwhelming. It is a historical gem!

I got to visit this incredible museum a few weeks ago, and I absolutely loved it!
Once I got inside, I started in the gallery, and then made my way outside to the house before seeing the gardens.
I loved seeing the variety of art work that was displayed, particularly the paintings done by the artists who boarded and rented studio space in Florence Griswold’s house.
When I got to the house, I was greeted by two docents, who were very friendly and kind. These two women were so knowledgeable and answered all my questions. One of them followed me as I toured the house. The house was beautiful, and I was so fascinated learning about Florence and hearing the history, as well as learning some fun facts.
I enjoyed the gardens, too. The pictures I took are just a few of many, and they definitely don’t do this place justice!
The staff is very friendly, and the price is reasonable. I went on a Saturday morning, and I had the house pretty much to myself, which was great because I could ask more questions and learn even more. The Flo Gris Museum is definitely a must do, hands down! Make sure you give yourself a couple of hours to explore the museum so that you can see everything.

A do not miss way to spend a spring day in CT! Beautiful art work, incredible location, great food all in Miss Florence Griswold's historic home along the Lieutenant River. Gardens were in full bloom & the staff couldn't have been more accommodating! One of my favorite CT destinations.

This was a great find. The house was an artist residence that they turned into a museum. Wonderful works of art surrounded by the history of Lyme! If you go - take the guided tour. It’s chock full of tidbits on the place.
